Hey it's Tip Tuesday once again. This week I'm discussing the vegetables that I give my dogs and why. Most ppl do not feed their dogs vegetables and they should. Dogs need fiber just like humans and for the same reason. My dogs do not eat crunchy food and because of that they do not get enough fiber.
Check the bags from their snacks for fiber content and then add vegetables to their dinner.
My dogs like carrots, broccoli, cauliflower, and green beans. Not too big on zucchini or peas. I've tried them. I cut them really small and cook them for 2-3 minutes depending on the vegetables; shock them in ice water, dry well and either freeze or refrigerate. I measure out 1/4-1/2 cup for each and then the same of their meat for the day. Top the dog food.
The vet said to do this because they were not ill, just had loose bowel movements. If your dogs have loose movements then you might want to try this. It really helps.
Go online and find a good chart of human food that dogs can eat. I found one at this website.
